A long-term residential care program for pregnant and/or parenting teens.
Maryville Casa Imani provides a nurturing home for teen expectant mothers, ages 13-19, who lack the availability of a healthy natural family to teach and support them. The goal of this program is to prepare young women for motherhood and independence, and to stop the cycle of abuse and neglect within their own families.
The purpose of treatment is to help the young women begin to meet their needs in positive and constructive ways, and to teach them to form relationships that will be important to their self development. Some of the specialized services provided include: parenting instruction, supportive services, substance abuse education, domestic violence education, and therapeutic services to address the various mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges these teen mothers face in their daily lives.
